Greetings,
The Roto Commish was born partly out of frustration and partly out of a passion for Fantasy/Rotissiere Baseball. I first started playing this game in 1988 when I discovered a book about it in the mall. I have played in various leagues of all levels of competition from the novice to the advanced. The most advanced competition comes from a league I have been commissioner of since 1999. My average finish since inception of that league is 3.34th in a 10-12 team format with my first championship coming in 2009. Contained within this site are some of the tools that I use, the research areas that I find helpful, and some information on the way our league is run that you may find of value.
My frustration, as mentioned above, came from trying to do research over the years. I would go from one site to another finding tidbits here and there. Some sites were better than others. Most sites would be complete BS and were just about inundating the reader with ads. So I have come up with a site that you hopefully will enjoy and get some benefit from using. There are minimal ads, and a ton of useful info provided in a very readable and easily accessible format. Explore any of the word headings above to see what I'm talking about.
To the uninitiated, this game seems like a trivial waste of time. I would argue just the opposite. Fantasy/Rotisserie baseball fascinates me because it is a game that involves multiple skills. It incorporates intelligence, cunning, persuasion, and patience just to name a few. Oh, and Lady Luck-that never hurts. Gambling, economics, statistics, Murphy's law; hey, it's all here. Like cards, chess, or any other pastime it is a worthy diversion.
In closing, I would like to say a big THANKS for stopping by. If you feel so inclined, visit our sponsors which will help to contribute to the improvement and longevity of this site. And if you don't, just know that you are still awesome and we just appreciate you stopping by. Come as often as you like.
